These are the rules for using Facet. We've written them in plain English because legal documents that nobody reads don't protect anyone. If something here is unclear, email us at hello@facet.games.
Play fair. Don't break things. Pay for what you use. Be decent to other people. We'll do our best to keep the service running and treat you well. If something goes wrong we'll work with you to fix it.
These terms apply to everyone who uses facet.games — whether you have an account or not, whether you're a free user or a paying subscriber.
By using Facet you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service (we'd genuinely rather you didn't use it than used it unhappily).
Facet is a daily themed puzzle platform. We publish a new theme every day with a set of games. Some games are free, some require a paid subscription.
We work hard to keep Facet available every day, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. Servers have bad days. We'll fix problems as fast as we can and communicate openly when something is wrong.
We may update, improve, or change features over time. We'll try to give advance notice for significant changes and we'll never remove something you're paying for without offering an alternative or a refund.
You're responsible for keeping your account secure. Since we use one-time codes instead of passwords, the main thing to protect is access to your email inbox.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
One account per person please. Creating multiple accounts to game the system (resetting streaks, exploiting free trials) isn't cool and we may close duplicate accounts.
You can delete your account anytime by emailing hello@facet.games. We'll take care of it within 7 days.
Free tier: Unearth and Chronicle (or Define on some themes) are always free. No credit card required. No time limit.
All Access: $2.99/month. Gives you the full daily lineup of 5 games, access to the archive, and detailed stats. Billed monthly, cancel anytime.
Family plan: $6.99/month. Everything in All Access for up to 4 family members.
We use Stripe for payment processing. By subscribing you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

We handle refund requests case by case. If something went wrong on our end (billing error, service was unavailable for an extended period) we'll make it right. If you just changed your mind, we'll try to work with you. Email hello@facet.games.
Facet is for personal enjoyment. Please don't:
We're not trying to be restrictive — we just need the service to work well for everyone.
The themes, questions, facts, and game content we create are ours. You're welcome to share your results (that's the whole point of the share card) but please don't reproduce entire puzzles or themes without asking.
If you spot a factual error in our content, please email us at hello@facet.games. We take accuracy seriously and will fix mistakes promptly.
Currently Facet doesn't have user-generated content. If we ever add features like comments or user profiles with bios, we'll update these terms. In general: don't post anything you wouldn't want your grandmother to read.
Facet is provided as-is. We work hard to make it great but we can't promise it'll be perfect or available 100% of the time. We're not responsible for:
Our liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months. For most free users that's zero, which is why we try to handle things with good faith rather than legal machinery.
We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. We'll give a warning first for minor violations. For serious violations (fraud, abuse, illegal activity) we may act immediately.
If we close your account unfairly, email us. We're human and we make mistakes.
You can close your account anytime. See the “Your account” section above.
If we make significant changes we'll notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. You can close your account if you don't agree with the changes — we'll refund any unused subscription time.
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where Facet LLC is registered. If there's ever a dispute we'd genuinely prefer to resolve it by email before anyone talks to a lawyer.
